Bringing the Lowcountry to Life: Emily Daws in the 2024 Southern Living Idea House
Emily Daws fabrics featured throughout the 2024 Southern Living Idea House on Johns Island, in collaboration with Allison Elebash Interiors.
I am beyond excited to share that many of our fabrics can be found in the interiors of the 2024 Southern Living Idea House — a stunning home on Johns Island, nestled along the marshes of the Kiawah River in a setting that perfectly captures the essence of the Lowcountry.
I had the pleasure of working alongside the team at Allison Elebash Interiors, who thoughtfully curated a group of local and regional artists to help tell the story of the home. Every room was designed to feel welcoming, comfortable, and deeply connected to nature, and it is such an honor to see our fabrics woven throughout.

Salt Marsh
A view from the horizon, Salt Marsh captures coastal grasses and winding waterways through a loose arrangement of line and form.
100% Belgian linen, printed in small batches in the USA.
Hemlock
Hemlock is informed by tall Carolina pines — a vertical stripe that captures their branching, needle-fine silhouette.
100% Belgian linen, printed in small batches in the USA.
Coffee Vestibule — Eden in Autumn benches with Sweetgrass in Bloom cafe curtains
Eden & Sweetgrass
Eden is inspired by a garden in full bloom, where florals and foliage come together in a gathered composition. Sweetgrass reimagines Charleston's iconic basketry through watercolor strokes.
Both 100% Belgian linen, printed in the USA.
Daffodil
Daffodil is a friendly floral, inspired by the first bloom of the season and its simple, recognizable form.
100% Belgian linen, printed in small batches in the USA.
Sandbar & Nest
Sandbar features delicate dotted lines that echo the movement of sand shaped by tide and wind — a subtle, textural stripe. Nest is an arrangement of organic motifs in a layered, nature-informed repeat.
Both 100% Belgian linen, printed in the USA.

The 2024 Southern Living Idea House is open for tours from August 9 through December 22. If you are in the Charleston area, I highly encourage you to visit — tickets are available through Dillard-Jones Builders, with proceeds benefiting Communities In Schools of South Carolina, Sea Island Habitat for Humanity, and the Mother Emanuel Memorial Foundation.
This collaboration has been such a rewarding experience, and I cannot wait for you to see how our fabrics have been woven into this remarkable home.
